Fostering Form
Note to all applicants:
Due to the location of our vet clinics, applicants must live within approximately one hour of Mississauga or Strathroy, own a vehicle (or have your own reliable driver), and have the flexibility/willingness to attend vet appointments during regular business hours (Mon-Friday 830-430 in Strathroy, Monday-Friday 9-6 in GTA) at our designated clinics.
All of our dogs require at least one vet visit. Almost all of our dogs require additional vetting which requires visits for rechecks and/or surgery dates. (spay/neuter/dental etc)
Our dogs generally come to us via transport teams through Critter Cabs or Freedom Drivers which will require the foster family to meet up with transport. We will arrange as close to your location of residence as possible. These transports typically arrive after dinner into the late evening with the exception of Sunday afternoon travel.
A typical foster experience ranges from 3 weeks to 3 months. All dogs are in care for a minimum of 2 weeks. Length of stay is pending the needs of the individual dog.
All dogs in your own home must be spayed/neutered unless proof of medical documentation can be provided.
As a rescue, we practice positive reinforcement training only.
Once your application has been submitted, someone from our foster team will connect with you within one week via email to set up a telephone interview and go over any questions and next steps with you. Please be sure to check your spam folder for communications too. If you have not heard from a member of our team please reach out to our rescue at: allison.happysplace@gmail.com
